Words From The Heart - Final Draft

The definition of "speed" is to move quickly and to move with fast pace, synonyms for speed are: hurry, rush, dash, run, race, sprint, blot, and dart. My parents started calling me that when I was in Elementary, although they don't call me that now, the meaning of this nickname has a unique and  has special back story. At first, I was pretty embarrassed of the name, I used to think that it was corny because Speed is not an ordinary nickname like "boo" or "bud". Nor does it connect to some far past with my ancestors.  It's a simple name my parents called me during a t-ball game or track meet.

Most people would laugh when I tell them that my parents used to call me speed, but for me it was more of an encouraging name that they used to call me. I don't usually tell people that my parents called me this because it sounded weird or unusual, because if you were to tell someone that your parents called you "speed" then they would most likely look at you like their crazy. They would only call me that when I had games or meets and surprisingly it actually helped.

When I was younger I used to play t-ball and track, both including running. I wasn't all that good at t-ball because I was shorter than most other players which technically means I was slower, same goes for track. But as I got older I started to practice running. After awhile, I was still shorter than most of the players but I eventually got better and faster. Whenever my coaches or parents called me that I look back to when I wasn't as fast and reflect on the progress I have made. When I would be running and the ball was getting to the base faster than me or people were passing me on the track, I would listen for my parents shouting my nickname. It would bring me to a place of support and love, knowing that my parents were there to help me. It was as if they were right beside me the whole time.

One time after a t-ball game that we won, I saw one of my teammates parents talking to mine, sense I was little I didn't bother to have a conversation with adults so I just ignored it. Afterwards in the car my parents told me that one of the parents was telling them how fast I was and how I ran faster than others. Because of this my coaches started calling me speedster or speed cause of my running ability. My parents then ended up calling me that too. "My son is really fast when it comes to running, one of the fastest on the team." says my Mom. My mom and dad have always been my number one supporters, especially when it comes to sports and competitions. And when they called me speed it was unique to me because no one else in the family got a weird nickname like me. My siblings nicknames were either their middle names or something that related with their original name. But my nickname related to something that I love to do, which was sports.

Speedster or speed is no longer my nickname nor do my parents still call me that because as I grew older it became a silly nickname, but it always had some weird special meaning to me. Whenever I look back to the times they used to call me this it brings me joy because it allows me to reflect to a time when I was little. It also reminds me when I would play t-ball and track and how much I used to enjoy it. I now love to run for fun or in competitions. Although I had a hard time with running before and hated it, it's now one of my favorite things to do. My parents always shouted "Speed Speed!" when I was running, so whenever I'm running from base to base or on a tack I listen for my parents voice of encouragement.

CNN Student News - Chunky Paragraph

Rumor has it that males have more leading roles in movies than women, but rumor also has it that more women go to the movies than males. According to CNN student news, "In 2014, women led 18% of the years 50 highest-grossing movies, according to a study by Boxoffice.com." (Direct Quote). I think this is very true because the top grossing movie in 2014 was Guardians of the Galaxy and the main character for that movie was Chris Pratt, a male

Males are know to be more dominant in the entertainment business that women are. Although males get more leading roles, women allow these movies to keep going in movie theaters. Opening weekend of World War Z for example, more women showed up to the theaters than men. Not only do women play a big role in movie money making but they also help spread it over social media. (Summary)

CNN student news said that women are responsible for over 60% of messaging over social media.v Women help spread movie information from instagram to twitter, boosting up movie's box office ratings, but for some odd reason, women still don't get the leading role compared to men, but then again men don't help movie grossing at all, making it battle of the sexes. Meet Aaron Quillopo

My name is Aaron Quillopo and this is my blog. As you can see, the title of my blog is "Writing the Unwritten". This title is to help and encourage me when writing, it tells me to not write what others write but to make my writing original and unique. I try not to write like everyone else, but to write with a purpose, to write like no other. Not only do I try to show originality through my title but also thought my whole blog. My blog does not use any of the Blogger templates. It's layout shows a little more about who I am and also shows what my skills and hobbies that I have. That way people don't have to read my essays to get to know me, they can just open my blog and scroll down.

The world I come from is like a half finished painting. In my life I know who I am but also don't know. The things I know about who I am are: that I am a people person and that I love to put my self out there. I also love to try new things and activities. One of the newest things I'm in is Colorguard, it is a real challenge for me because we have to condition and it has to deal with a lot of physical endurance. Practices some times stretch from 5 hours to 12 hours. Other things I like that include physical endurance that I like is volleyball and track. Even if I only started in 7th grade and not in a club, volleyball has always put me in a better mood than what I was in before. It has offered me more friends and it is now something that I love to do. On the other hand, track has always been a more competitive sport for me. I've been in track from elementary and have loved it ever since. The fastest I have ever ran 100m is in 9.68 seconds and the farthest I have every jumped is 12 feet (7 feet without running).

Aside from sports, I also like to read. I don't particularly have a favorite book because I've read so many. However, I do have a favorite genre and that is teen books of course. Teen books can range from books like The Fault in Our Stars to The Maze Runner. Last summer I read 21 books for fun. When I was reading those books I realized that reading gives me a chance to escape to wherever my mind takes me. Weather it's living in an apocalypse or experiencing Hazel and Augustus's love story, reading will always be a door to my imagination. Another one of my hobbies is photography. Although I don't have the best pictures, I plan to become better in the future. I am currently taking photography as one of my electives. Photography to me is capturing the moments in life that are important to you, the moments that make you look back and wish you were there all over again.

Me as a person, I am simple, but complex. Loud, but quiet. Playful, but serious. I know how to act when it is needed and when it is also not needed. When school work comes around I put lots of effort and thought into the work I do and I try my best to do them with excellence. When it comes to friends, I admire friends who know me well and who I know well too.  I try not to be a "band wagoner" or a person who likes things only cause it's popular or the "in thing". I like to find upcoming songs before anyone else and if I'm lucky it doesn't become a popular song and it gets to be my own little song that only I know about. The kind of music I like are electronic bands like M83. And bands like bands like Twenty One Pilots . Occasionally I'll listen to radio music or "top charts" songs, but not very often. Most of the time I'm a care free guy with a sense of humor. I'm also the kind of person that might see everything different from everyone else. I am an Extrovert which means I am out going and I like to put myself out there, I'm not shy or timid, but broad and friendly.

You may think that I know myself and exactly who I am, but some things are still "under construction". Like what I want to be when I grow up or what college I want to go to. Although those things are far away, I would like to start planing for them now. I also don't know what my favorite movie is, why I like pickles, who dislikes me, who does like me, or who I'll end up with in life. Some of these things are way in the future and some a little weird. I may not know what life has in store for me but I'm a go with the flow kind of guy so for now, I'll just go with the flow.
